Okay, Daniel tells me it was only there for minutes, not hours. I was really trying to ignore the whole process by not looking and losing myself in the crazy antics of Moritz-Maria von Igelfeld.

Anyway, I heard about this on NPR and was glad to see that, guys, you too can grow a mustache and compete in a "sweetest stache" competition to support children's charities. So if you have been dying to take a shaving break and need a good excuse to appease the woman in your life, here it is! Have fun!

I agree that it may not look bad, simply as a guy with a mustache and a hat. But since it *is* me, I either see it as not-me and can tolerate it, or I see myself in the image and I just have to laugh, because it is really not *me*!

The mustache thing might be generational. I think it is popular again mostly for the same reasons that trucker hats were, and 80's garb is: the irony of wearing something that we laugh at. I understand the feeling, thus the photo shoot, but cannot sustain such irony.

And just so you know Dad, the mustache looks great on you. Cowboy hat too.

Oh, I am so glad it is gone! It was accompanied by a full beard which I can tolerate for a while. Then went to a mustache and goatee for a few days. The mustache alone only existed for a few hours and I could not bear to look. I am so glad it is all gone now. It has been over a month since I have had a good kiss on the lips. Leaning in for a good poking, scratchy, nose tickling kiss was not my idea of a good time. But I assume most men enjoy a break from shaving every once in a while!

Hey, I think it looks (looked) great! It was helped along by the cowboy hat, or maybe vice versa. --Dad
