Yep, "Buddy" is legendary. I enjoy telling folks about the only "pet" rabbit we ever owned. Pee spray at feedings, and that final fatal bite...

Really fun to read that, Dan! Loved the pictures with the following posts. And yes, we all know what it's like to have a rabbit with a grudge... Remember 'Buddy'.

What a strange, but probably very welcome feeling, knowing that you can really let your roots grow deep by planting! Also, so great to feel that the place you live is really home. Glad for you!

We are very excited about the fruit, and are still planning to put in raspberries, gooseberries, and black currants. The strawberries are already in "jars" from the summer.

The walnuts were just too much in the first few months of moving in. If we did not have all the other stuff to do to get settled, we would have dedicated time to setting up a husker, drying racks, and something to crack them with. Just not this year.

Thanks for the great post and update! I think it is wonderful that you are bale to get some trees planted right away, and have fruit to look forward to in the coming years! We planted a mango, a nangka, an avocado and a rambutan last year, and it is a good feeling.

So... the walnuts are proving to be better for shade and scenery than for what they produce? :-)
