Great news :)

Looks like a great place, with enough land that (hopefully) you won't feel hedged in too badly. And lots of photo ops.

Selfishly, I am glad you guys are staying in the midwest. Obviously we would have been happy for you all, but happy to know you are a 4hour drive...now, let's get together!

Looks like a great opportunity! I love the old farm house look and having your own land will be a lot of fun. I hope it goes through!

Yes, that is the hard part. It would mean staying put for a while. Our kids are getting older, and our pace of life here is relaxed. Relocating again would most likely kill that pace for years, and throw the kids into another round of "who are my friends?" and I find that both are hard to do willingly.

We were seriously considering a move to Seattle that would have probably taken place this month. But when we really were honest with ourselves, we realized that our dream of living on and tending land is something we would like to do with the kids, and a move away from here would postpone it for years and years (and our A is already 11.5!).

Our feelings are mixed as well. It is hard to choose between living closer to more family, and providing roots for ourselves and our kids. We are tired of moving, and tired of leaving, but tired too of being far away.

I confess to mixed feelings:
So excited for you! Great news.
Does this mean there is less of a chance that you would move to the PNW?
Mildly envious of all that beautiful land... OK, maybe wildly envious.

We are waiting with baited breathe (like the cheese eating cat just outside the mouse hole) to find out if they accept your offer... Great place, amazing potential!

dude. uber wicked. that is really sweet.
14 acres? is that pond on the land? we are definitely going to have to come out and see that action when you move in (if).
you could make a ton of cheese there.
thanks for noticing the new K2-ness. i dig all that k2 crazines... those dudes really know what they are doing.
you are using flickr now, though, i see. no more gallery for ya? it took me forever to theme the new ajaxian theme for gallery, and i decided to clean up shop on the server, and deleted everything before i realized that gallery remote is not working for gallery 2.2 beta. i have to upload through the browser now, which is better than the 4 file at a time garbage on gallery 2.1, but still takes a long time.
anyways. nice to stay in touch.
love.
