For Grampa

Jul 15, 2006 - 16 Photos

A while back, before we had our busy couple weeks with family and traveling, I was able to capture an air show at our local airport. I was just outside the airport, right at the end of the runway. It was a rush as each plane headed straight for us to land, passing 15-20 feet over our heads.

You can see the whole album here.

So, who can tell me the types of air craft?

You know, for someone who was not going to blog this summer, you sure are blogging a lot…

I know, I changed my mind. Maybe it was the time away. I have about 5 topics that are being developed in the back room…

Love those WW2 planes. Corsair (pic #1 and #3), called the “Bent Wing” was a fabulous plane. Flown by Navy and Marines. Twin engine job in #2 was a B-25 and I flew in one at Biak. Noisy as all get out. Stunting planes seem to be AT-6s and the single engine in 9 and 10 is a Douglas Dauntell Dive Bomber. Daniel, you did a wonderful job taking these shots. Very professional.

Errata - Make that Douglas Dauntless. Forgot to look at it.

Thanks for the complement! I knew you would know what types of crafts they were. Those were a few of the 100+ pictures that I took over the course of about 40 minutes. It sure takes a long time to sort through them all. I think I still have about 70 after throwing out the blurry and bad ones.
