There has been a regular parade of thunderstorms, but the one that
rolled through at 10pm last Monday was rather intense. The other
thing that made it notable, was it’s status as first thunderstorm that
I have attempted to capture with my little Canon A40. I was happy
with the results…

Fantastic! You have a distinct advantage in that you are always viewing your vista over water, water makes everything sparkly and dramatic. You exploit it well!
